Hi,

We have just upgraded from CE10 to BOXI R2 about a week ago.

I hae noticed thaf for whatver reason some of the Business Views have not copied accross.

My question is would there be any impact if I migrated the repository again from CE10 to BOXI now that everything is up and running?

Is it possible just to migrate the Business Views only?

Thanks

Hi geldercroft

Welcome to my nightmare - I have come from where you are coming from and I went live January 24th.

I could bestow countless pointers about it all - but you have the ability to select specific Business Views out of CE10 - export them to xml files - and then import them into the BOEXIR2 environment the same way.

I did the migration countless times before getting it right - here are some pointers:

1. Make sure Win AD authentication is turned on and working in BOEXIR2 BEFORE migration - otherwise it will not import your users and groups.

2. Make sure you bring all objects /users /folders /groups /repository objects together if you want your existing security settings to come over nicely

3. Make sure all services on the BOEXIR2 install are running and enabled BEFORE migrating (needs input and output server enabled to bring over the reports, etc.

4. Give yourself plenty of time to complete this - if you have a big system it could take 60 minutes for the import wizard to take stock of items to migrate. It takes around 8 hours for the Import Wizard to complete our CE10-BOEXIR2 migration - so one mistake - and it's another 8 hours! we had over 50000 objects/users/docs to bring over.

5. Do not import discussions and threads if it is not absolutely necessary - as BOEXIR2 handles discussions differently and may cause you some unexplainable errors in functionality of BOEXIR2 if you do..... (we did and I am still trying to overcome them)

I hope this helps!

Cheers
