When printing a report, can I get it to order by a text field and then date?

What I have is a text field I use for times (mainly so I can enter inclusive times like 0700 - 0800) and then a date field.

In reports, design and then properties I have the order by properties set like hiddendate, occuredtime with order by on set to yes (true)

Knowlegeable enough just to cause serious problems.

I am not totally sure what you are getting at but are you saying that you get a "funny" order when you produce the report?

If so this may be related to the sort on your times field will be a text sort not a numeric one.

Warwick

Reports are best sorted using the Sorting and Grouping dialog. You can set up lots of sort expressions. As noted by Wocca, you may have issues with your text field since it isn't a datetime field.

I got it to work, what I did was create a new query with the record sorted by both fields, then created a new report.

If you are relying on the report to inherit the sort order of a query, you will have issues.
