Hi,

I am using CR8 and SQL database.

Sometimes when I run reports through application in CR Viewer
Reports give error 20599-Not all reports but some reports.
All report are based on this same DSN.

To make report works again I have to:

- verify database-I am getting message :up to date
- go to set location and click done-without changing location.

And it is working for some time.
I do not know what is happening but every day I am not sure if report will work.

Please help if you can,
Marta

Which viewer are you referring to?

Do these reports have subreports or anything else that is different about them?

When you get the report to work you save it, it works for a while and then fails?

I am using OCX viewer.
I cant find any difference in reports.

Sometimes they works sametimes dont.
When I have to do magic with data veryfication and location which from my perspective do not change anything.Data is up to date and I do not changeing location.

That is strange. Is this a VB client app or a web based app? Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

It seems the table reference is screwed up and the set-location is not fixing it completely. If you have another table that has the same fields I would try changing the location to that table, and then changing it back to the correct one. This might force CR to re-add the table cleanly.

You shouldn't have to do this but it is worth a try. The part that makes me wonder is why it works for a while. Nothing else in the environment is changing? Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

I had a similar problem with a VB6 app, which was due to the CrystalReport1 control not being re-initialised properly between reports. One report would always work, because it had more formulas than any of the others, but all the others would always fail with an 'Invalid formula' error *after* that report had been run, and after the running of some other reports. This led to the situation where some reports would work to start off with, then stop working after some (but not all) other report(s) had been run, until the form from which they were being run had been closed and reopened. This was cleared by ensuring that all formulas from any previously run report were cleared before loading those for the report to be produced.
