I have VDB5.7 running under WinXP. I have two printers connected through USB (Lexmark 6300 and Canon S200). Neither printer will print from the command "Report Form .." Nothing appears to happen!

If I use Chooseprinter()before the "Report Form" command line and "Set Printer to" after, I get the reports unformatted in Courier type. However, if I uninstall the Lexmark, the Canon will then print correctly. Is it possible to have the two printers installed and be able to print reports on either?

I've had this problem before with a Fax printer under Win95 which I had to uninstall.

Any help will be appreciated.

I have a similar problem. I am using VDB5.5 and I can't get to my printer (although the program editor works fine). From some other forums It was suggested that I go into the Control Panel, select printer & fax, then in the default printer display go into properties. Under this dispay click on Ports and check the sharing box, next go up and enable LPT1.
I am also using XP and have 2 USB printer (cannon, Brother) following the above I was able to at least get to my default printer, however the characters do not print properly. The text is 'Test Test Test'. I get 3 groups of 4 characters but they are constructed from horizontal and vertical lines and of course uninteligible. I tried your Chooseprinter() and never got to the printer. If you or anyone else has a sugestion please advise.

Thanks Jerry,

I will say that if I uninstall both my printers, then re-install the Canon, the reports will print correctly on the Canon (and I don't have to use Chooseprinter()). The Canon must however be the only printer installed - no fax printer allowed!

Unfortunately, reports will not print if I install only the Lexmark printer.

I have found out my problem with Printing. The solution that I got on the forum solved the access to the printer, however the printer was using the WP Box Drawing font. I went into Control Panel and then into font and found all the fonts listed. I deleted all the WP fonts that were not English based and now my reports print out properly. The font that is being used is not my favorite but it will do. How can I select a different font?
