I am able to view the data in the various fields on a report in Crystal Report Designer, by right clicking on the database field and selecting browse data. However, when I view the report in the Crystal enterprise Admin interface, the report is empty i.e. no fields are populated.

I am using Crystal 10.

What you need to test is whether the report RUNS and returns data in Crystal designer, not whether you can browse data, they're not directly related.

And when you say admin interface, be specific, there's more than 1.

What may be causing you grief is the Report->Selectiopn Formula->Record, as it may be filtering out all rows, try commetning out parts of it (use // to convert lines to comments).

Thanks for your response.

I'm very new to Crystal, how do I run the report and return data in Crystal designer?

The admin interface I was refering to was the Crystal management Console.

Just hit the lightning bolt icon to run the report in designer.

Then to run the report in the CMC (which isn't the best place, you should be using Infoview or whatever they called the viewing app in CE 10), make sure that you've set the password and parameters first.

Sounds like you could use a lil training yet, but it's not that tough, yu'll figure it out.

Thanks. The 2 reports in question are showing up as blank, even though I have tweaked the parameters. What do the values I can view via browse field data indicate?

I am able to run and view other reports though.

Not sure what tweak the parameters means.

Remove everything in the record selection formula (make them comments) and then run it.

The reports probably aren't returning any data.

Doing a browse just queries that field in that table/view in the database, it doesn't run the report.
