Hello,

I cannot open or save reports from CR XI to/from BOE XI. When I open a report directly from CR I can log in to the system and I can see all reports on the server. But, I cannot open the reports. I get the following error message:

"The report could not be opened from BusinessObjects Enterprise. Possibly the report is on a different BusinessObjects Enterprise system that the one you are currently logged onto. If this problem persists, please contact your administrator."

Any suggestions on how to solve this are appreciated!

I have CR XI and BOE XI.

Hi,

Any chance there is a firewall between the client and the server?

Looks like you can acces the CMS as you can logon and browse but not the Input FRS as you can't get the file.

Is it working as Administrator?

Any logs in the Application Event Logs?

Well there's a firewall but everything is open and all ports needed too (port 6400 and another port).

The first problem was that port 6400 wasn't open (error message said that port 6400 had be open). Then I opened it and it still didn't work (no error message though). Looking at the log files in the firewall I saw that there were some traffic in 3889 so I opened that one too then it worked fine. But just browsing the files.

I log on as administrator. If I use the CR-app installed on the same machine as BO there's no problem. So something is wrong with the network? I ping the server from my local computer without any problems.

Almost all BO servers are running with a user (There are some that are running as local). Not as local.

No event logs are available.(Not supported with our license.)

I see on the firewall log that different (random?) ports are used by BO?

It's exactly that.

The listening port of the CMS is 6400 by detault but the replying port is random. Same for the rest.

What you need to do is for the CMS, Input and Output to add -requestport XXXX in the CCM and open those ports on the firewall.

Let me know how it goes.

How about if they can't access it from the server. I assuming it's a security setting. Just not sure what or where.

I jumped the gun. Security issue. All taken care of.
