Hey reportNet Gurus

I have a report which uses a tabular sql. Total no of rows returned from the sql is 376.Now the sql used for the report takes approx 10secs to execute but the report takes atleast 4mins to return back. The output format is PDF. There isn't much happening within reportNet either. There is group element with the group total being displayed.

Can anyone suggest what could cause this delay? Is there a some options in reportNet which I could try? Or is it that it just takes so much time.

Any help will be appreciated.

Sunny

run each query's tabular data and see how long it takes to return. If they are all very quick then it is more then likely a formatting issue.

To prove this take the query you have and drop them into a new list report without any formatting and run.

in Report studio, you can try your sql without formatting and without creating a list.

Open the Query explorer and select your query.
click the icon "View tabular data" (the first icon to the right of the "run report")
This will run your sql and generate a simple list, just to display the result.
You ll get the same result as running the sql in toad or in sql+.
