Hello,
Does anyone here know how to automatically run reports and capture them to the computer. I currently use Procomm to access systems and are familair with system admin and installation. As I am a certified Octel engineer, but don't have much experience with Procomm scripting. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Pete

I am trying to remotely dial in to Octel 200/300 and run report 1,5,6&8. I am able to create the script to run the reports by using the script recorder in procomm but when I try to combine the dial in and reporting am having trouble chaining them together.

I've been retired for a year, so my memory is foggy, but here is a general summary that may help you get started.

When I did this type of thing, I set procomm up, using the waitfor or when command, to check for a certain phrase to come back from the Octel platform. Then I'd use the Procomm Capture. set/fetch stateements to assign a name to the captured file

You can also do a manual capture by setting up the report, and then clicking the file capture icon (a net with a yellow file folder in it) before you actually run the report. You should go into Procomm set up, Data Options, and click the setup button to set the capture file options. This arrangement will capture the report as it scrolls across your screen, so you also need to go to your terminal options and make sure the "Disable Host Printing" is checked. Otherwise, I believe your report will go directly to the default printer on your PC.

That is good info from jleb, and I have gotten quite a bit of help from the ASPECT / Procomm forum here on tek-tips as well. You can post your script there, substituting your sensitive information of course, and they will give you several options.
