Is it possible to omit fields when they are repeated?

e.g.
---------------------------------------------------------
name lastname debit credit
Peter Smith $12.00 $14.11
$11.11 $05.11

John Doe $07.22 $07.11
Bill Doewn $01.22 $00.10

----------------------------------------------------------

if this e.g Peter's name is only displayed once and the second record also belongs to him

Can I do this from the format = area?
What about adding a line after certain reports?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Keep track of the last name, if it appears again dont print...

print $name unless ($name eq $prev_name);

I am not using the print command, I am using the
report format = tool

like this

format DetailReport1 =

@<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< @<<<<<<< @<<<<<<<<< @<<<<<< @<<<<<<< @<<<

$rpt_pick_idid, $rpt_wskuskuskuid, $rpt_from_load, $rpt_from_locname, $rpt_planned_destinationname, $rpt_qty

I was hopping I didn't have to make code changes to the script.

You still have to issue 'print' or 'write' commands even if you are using 'format...' to control how they look, so what krKX says still stands.
