I can't email reports is there any way I can change the account? if so how ?

Make sure to include the domain name in the recipient address; jsmith@mydomain.com

Also, are you running in a clustered environment?

the recipient was as above jsmith@mydomain.com, however it is to do with the owner of the schedule. Is there any to change the owner?

What type of report is this, I assume you are talking about the owner of the SRS job as scheduled thru SQL Agent?
