Hi to all forum members,

I am very new to CE10, I have a problem that seems to have started after installing Hotfix common controls, db hotgix and viewees hotfix.

I have CE10 on a Internet host and on the server I can view reports in activeX no problems, however when I view them from a remote machine across the net the report simply hangs.

Doe you have any idea what might cause this behaviour? DHTML seems no trouble at all.

Any suggestions would be great....

Many thanks in advance

Paul

When you say "hangs", do you mean that the ActiveX window doesn't open - or it opens and nothing renders?

What do your remote users see...?

Thanks for your reply,

things are a little stranger, I now have it working on my machine but it took around 3 - 5 mins to appear with Active X intall, is this normal? CE10 is on a beast of a dedicated host so resources should not be the problem.

Basicly when you click view (active X is setup in prefs) a grey screen appears and simply does nothing (the little red x is in the corner ready for the viewer to launch).

some machines seem to sit there forever, with my test server in our network, the active x views appear right away.

do you have any suggestions?

Many thanks

Paul

Hmmm, it appears Norton had caused it to time out requesting to download the Active X viewer. Once I disabled it it takes around 4 mins to install

Thanks for your help

No problem...

The RED X in ActiveX is usually caused by firewall or anti-virus issues between the PC and the Server, so Norton is a likely suspect.
