Report Variables

Is there a method to select multiple entries from a list (off a table) when you use a Report Variable. I want my user to select a number of rows(line items) from a purchase_order table. Ihave a Report Variable set up which lists the rows but I can only choose one.

ReportSmith will only let you choose 1 value. You can type in several values but I find most users mess this up when they try it. To type in several values you would set up a text box style report variable. When the Report Variable is displayed you would type in:

Value One','Value Two','Value Three

ReportSmith will add a ' to the start and end.

To go along with Charles suggestion. Depending on how many line numbers there are. you might want to make a seperate report that list these. That way they will know which ones they are selecting. I find this helpful when I have a LARGE list of values, and I can't remember what all the values are for. Such as jobcodes,home dept number and things like that.

Not unless it has been added in the last few releases.

You would think they would add this feature.

You can develope a macro that can take multiple values (ie using a text box)and send the sql statement back to the active report where an IN statement is used.

I've done this many times, but you need to instruct the user to add a comma after each entry.
