I wanted to ask if there was a report tool that would allow an administrator to view and print all the local policy settings applied to an Windows XP Pro workstation. Can not seem to find any free tools that would allow it.
In the Management Console for Group Policy there is the Export List function under the Action Menu. This will save a Text file of what ever is displayed or expanded in the right-pane of the Console.
This is an example of the output for user rights assignments -
Policy Security Setting
Access Credential Manager as a trusted caller
Access this computer from the network Everyone,Administrators,Users,Backup Operators
Act as part of the operating system
Add workstations to domain
Adjust memory quotas for a process LOCAL SERVICE,NETWORK SERVICE,Administrators
Allow log on locally Guest,Administrators,Users,Backup Operators
This function works but only exports what is currently expanded. Is there a way to export all settings at once into a file without having to expand settings?
"HTML Reporting Functionality and the Settings Tab
The Settings tab is a very useful area in the GPMC. You can use it to view the HTML reports on the GPO. These HTML reports state what is configured in the individual GPO. It provides an area in which you can see all the settings, look at the descriptions (the "explain" sections) of the selected objects, and condense and expand the report details (by clicking on Show All). Additionally, the reports can be saved or printed".
