Report text overwritting itself

I have a report field that is vertically expandable an can have up to 2000 characters. Below it on the layout are other fields. The problem that I am seeing is that the large (2000 char) field is expanding, but the below fields do not shift down, such that the large field overwrites some of the lower fields. I have tried putting 'Print Object On' to 'Default' for all the fields. Any helpful suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

It appears that I have fixed this problem just by stretching the field vertically a little and making the vertical elasticity variable.

Thanks to anyone who looks at the problem.
