Hi Group
I have a report and the report footer spills over to a new page even though visually it looks as if it can fit onto one page.

It fitted onto one page before I moved an item from one group to the next.

Any ideas how I can get the report to print onto one page? I've changed the page setup, margins etc...just seems strange that by changing the grouping affects how the report prints!!

Regards

make sure the height of each section is the minimmum and you have no empty white space at the botton. Cystal will still attempt to print this even though the space doesn't contain fields.

Further to Gary's answer, if there's white space on the preview causing a problem, the grey bar down the left hand side (I'm not sure what it's called - can someone enlighten me?) will show you which report section everything on the page is in- this can help to explain a lot of white space if you're not sure what's causing it.
This may be obvious, but I only discovered it recently and I've found it really useful for formatting reports neatly.

Something that I've learned and is good to keep in mind when working with groups in Crystal 8.5 at least (I have not tried it in V10 yet) is to be careful of the "Keep Group Together" option in the Group definition. I've seen the report leave the first page completelly blank and then print the entire group on the second page just by having that check box marked off. Just something to keep in mind.

I can't remember if this was available in 8.5 but in 10 there is an option in report options 'Respect keep Group Togeher on First page'

You need to Clear this check box to ensure that Crystal Reports begins printing your first group on the first page of the report, even when you have selected the Keep Group Together check box.

Gary,
I don't remember seeing this option in 8.5 but thank you for letting me know that it is in 10. I just remember having problems with that when I started using Crystal reports.

Thanks,
Cristina

keep Group Togeher on First page isn't an option in 8.5. It is one of the things they must have fixed in later versions.
