I open powerplay windows client (vesrion 7.3.1240.0) and build a report where I change the budget measure from 3 to 0 decimals (in transformer is it standard 3). I publish this report to upfront and then is format again 3 decimals. but it should be 0 decimals.
Can anyone inform me what I can change in the settings so the reportsettings come prior to the cube settings?

koetjes,
Your issue is an example of the slight functional differences between PP Enterprise server and PP Client; the client has better formatting capabilities. I can't see any possible 'tweaks' in the .ppx file to override the settings in the mdc that are defined in the .pyi/.mdl.

I think you'll have to raise it as an enhancement request for PPES, cross your fingers and hope it makes it to the next revision before your digits turn blue...

Is there a possible workarround?

A was amazed by this problem and am looking for every possible creative solution.
Can I change the report? What will be the concequences?
Can I change the cube? What will be the concequences?
Are there any other options?

koetjes,

If you accept the premise that PPES displays the figures with the Transformer settings for each measure, then the only way to change the report is to change the cube, which requires you to change the model.

Unless you think other users of the cube will complain, you'll need to change the decimal places in the model to 0 and then update the cube (no need to rebuild).

A workround could be to have the budget figures in the model twice, once with 0 d.p. and once with 3 d.p.; the report writer can then choose the best measure for the report.

so:
Change the report? No effect
Change the cube? Has effect, but other reports (and users) will be affected.
Other options?
-Duplicate the measure
-Badger Cognos to add functionality

Another way is to use the Currency conversion feature.

This is an old article but the technique is still valid. check page 29, "Formatting measures on the web".
It will not work if you are already using currency conversion in your model.

Nice memory! Lots of other interesting bits in that magazine. Certainly different to the SupportLink email they send now. A star from me.

Saidly enough, also this creative solution does not work in the web-environnement. Looks like the same issue.
any other options?

The standard cube settings are displayed for all currencies.
I think it is the same issue as with the reporting settings.

Has anyone experience with the currency conversion in version 7.3.1240.0??

To resolve any decimal issues, as the orig. question is, is to do a "round-near" function of some kind in the .imr or the reportnet project before it becomes a cube or .iqd. This works 100%. You will have to designate your scale and output in the .mdl/.pyi properly after updating your .iqd's. (if that is what you are using.)
