I have a report where there are two people with the same lastname but different firstname and the report relating to those two is presented under the first person only.
Obviously there is either a problem with the query or table. Should firstname and lastname be linked somehow? And is it too late to rectify the problem.

thanks

Not necessarily.

Why don't you run the query and see if the problem is there also???

Grouping by Last Name can be done in the query or in the report. Just need to figure out which one and rectify it.

Hi Lilliabeth

There is no problem if I run the query. Its just in the report. I tried grouping on the report and that hasn't worked. But there is a new development with the report. The second named person with the same surname appears with only their records but the first person with the surname and their records isn't appearing in the report.

Do you have further ideas what the problem could be?

cheers

Are there subreports that you aren't telling us about? Do you have text boxes in your detail section or a group header that groups only by last name. You should not have a group header or footer section based on the last name field.
