I have every thing in the detail section of the report...

In the Detail section I have the one records...then
in a sub report I bring in the many records....

Its ID to many CN's....the CN's are in a sub report also only using the detail section...when I look at the sub report
I only get the 18 records....but when I pre view or print the
main report...I get 18 by 18 records....what setting is causing
the sub report to print one of all 18 records 18 times?

both reports are base on one query calling up the ID...when
looking at the query once again it is showing only 18 records.

I looked at the properties of the report and I am not coming up
with what needs to be change can anybody give me suggestions?

thanks in advance.

More detail on your issue would make it easier to help you. However based on your statement I would First eliminate the sub-report. If both reports are using the same query then you don't need it. Put the ID in a group section and the CN's in the detail.

Ray,

I was waiting thinking someone was going to ask for more information....but you did not need it you gave me the answer....

I had tried the grouping too but with CN......

because I had a form select the ID to be printed....

But when I grouped on ID like you told me too and when I put
the CN data in the detail....it worked....it printed the ID
information first and then printed the CN information

with only one printing of the data......

Thanks thanks thanks!

I would like to save on paper....how can I get the detail part
of this report to print these records on both the left and right
side of the page.....is there a column command?...I have the data
small enough that going down the page it is only taking up
half the page I would like it to print on the half too?

Any sugguestion?
