I am working on a very simple report.

The layout consists of a frame, a repeating frame inside the frame and a field inside the repeating frame.

The fiels comes from a column formula I programmed. I have two issues.

1. I want to remove the empty space where the header normally goes.

2. The output is shown only on the first page while I know there are more pages. I put all the 'Print On' properties on all 3 layout objects to 'ALL pages' and nothing changes.

I appreciate any input.

To delete space, go to "Edit Margins" and stretch the Body up.
To print report correctly, replace All to First Page for Print Object on property of all objects.

Thanks Nargoni, You were right about the spasce and and the first page property. One thing that I needed to add is replace variable with expand in the property palette of my (only) field.

You know, the more I work with report builder, the more I noticed that it is a terrible program.

Yesterday I had an issue which took me all day to resolve with another report. I wanted to change a baseline report so that more space is allowed to print each field. Now the best way to do this, without reducing font, I thought was to print the report landscape instread of portrait.

If I only change the page setup for header, body and trailer by putting 11/8.5, selecting landscape, and increase the number of columns (width) from 130 to 180 and height from 66 to 45. Without actually touching the layout, I encountered the issue that an object had 0 size!

Turns out, I am not sure, that Reports builder will recalculate the sizes of all objects and round down. So i had a field which was less than one character cell in height..

Yes, it's a buggy tool, but still pretty powerful. The worst thing, of course, is to change someone else's design. After gaining more experience with the tool though, you start appreciating its capabilities. And never hisitate to ask questions :)

Does this also apply to streching the format to fit letter size. Our guru created a report that only goes down about 3/4 of the page since that is what they saw during the design. We now have data that goes to 2nd page, that could easly fit on first page.
The iffy part is ther are so many repeating groups its like an engineering diagram to see anything.

This is why Artemis slew Orion

First check the outer fram of total layout. Very likely it is of fixed vertical elasticity. If so, and if there is space beneath it, just stretch the frame down. If there is no space available, look into the Hiegh property of the report section (most likly it is Main section) in which the layout resides.
