I have 38 data elements to be displayed in a report. In page setup, chose " 11X17" and orientation has "Potrait" still am running out of report layout for data elements to be placed.
Is there a specific layout or settings in the layout that can be done to increase the report layout.

When tried to shrink the columns to acomodate all the data elements, the report exported in xls has empty columns & rows between to records and data elements. This is a danger with xls.

Is it possible for the above 2 things to be taken care.

I am using CRXI.
And the oreintation is Landscape.
Need some inputs from experts who have dealt with this kind of problem.

When exporting to Excel or records must be same height and perfectly aligned and clamped within a section otherwise you get extra rows.

To avoid extra columns place guides at each cell junction and make sure all records are tied to a guide.

You can also use legal paper in landscape and that will give you more room. Don't try to print it directly from Crystal!!

I might be asking a silly question.
What are guides? Tried checking in the help/guide, couldn't find any.
Can you provide some more details on placing guides.

Click in the ruler bar, it will place a triangle, then you can move objects and they will 'snap' to the guide. It makes handy to move a number of objects (fields, labels, etc.) to a different location on the report. Also helps when alineing numbers vertically for totals.
