Hi there,

I'm using BOE XI2 on SQL Server.

I'm trying to publish a report using dynamic parameters. But, I'm finding that the refresh rate of the parameter list when I'm trying to run the report can be up to 4 or 5 minutes at a time.

To get around this, I built a business view based on the same datasource, but when I try to create a list of values, I get the error message
Code:
Report Engine Not Opened
(I checked the CCM and everything is running and enabled. I restarted all these, disabled and re-enabled, and restarted the server.) If I try to recreate the error using the same List of Values, the error returned is:
Code:
Item SI_METADATA_ALL_DESCENDANTS was not found in the collection. (CrystalEnterprise115.FW_Properties.1)

Please help me get to the bottom of this if you have some ideas.

Many many many thanks.

Yes - I have exactly the same problem in the same environment(s) (BOXIR2, SQL Server 2000, Windows Server 2000).

I'm using BOXIR2 with a Business View, which has a list of values from it. When I try to save the LOV - I get exactly the same two error messages.

Really grateful if anyone knows what's going on here!!!

Thanks!

Rob

I am having the same issue with an Oracle datasource.
Did you manage to obtain a fix. I have raised a case with Business Objects.

The Error in File UNKNOWN.RPT Failed to Create the Crystal Database Connector, sometimes appears instead of "Report Engine not Opened"

Any help with this gratefully received.

I am now into over 3 weeks to "simply" install BOEXI R2. This has to be the worst upgrade that Business Objects/Crystal have released.

I am getting similar to above when trying
to implement 'list of values' through a business view
(like extracting teeth)

Code:
Item SI_METADATA_ALL_DESCENDANTS was not found in the collection.

does anyone have any ideas?

many thanks

Here is what I did, however this might not be possible for some folks.
I am running crystal reports on my boe server and I figure this functionality got broken when I added the monthly hot fix (sept 06).
broken functionality: I open crystal reports, I try to point a prompt to a different business view and click ok and the error message appears. At first I figured it was within the boe code/ business view manager, however I realized another developer was connecting to the bvm via another server, so I gave this a try.
This second server did not have the mhf applied so crystal reports was able to perform this function just fine on that server.
Normally I would just patch but for various reasons we are not going to be able to do so for a while.
