i have a report that i created last year for one time use (or that was what i was told), I used select expert to put in the dates that they wanted the report to be in between.

now i have been told that they need this report however the dates have changed.

I have gone in and set up a parsmeter for start and end date - looking for the dates in the table and field locations. I deleted the select expert specifying the dates from when i created the report.

the parameter is working, when i put in the dates, the dates that comes up on the report in the header are correct however the dates in the column are not between the start date and end dates. So i re-created the select expert with the dates that they want. (so the report is fine right now with the select expert set up).

I know i am missing something but i am not sure what. I only work in Crystal Reports once in a great while, not an every day or month function. Do i have to have a select expert all the time? they are only going to use this report maybe once a year and the dates will be different every time. that would mean i would have to go into design mode and change the select expert every time. if there is a way to not have to do that, that would be wonderful.

Thnks, :)

Don't use the select expert, manually write a record selection formula. In crystal XI you get the by clicking on report, selection formulas, record.

Then enter a formula:

{YourDate} in {?StartDate} to {?EndDate}

Note that you can do this with ONE parameter not 2, if you make the parameter a date-range parameter:

{YourDate} in {?DateRange}

Thank you very much for your assistance.

With your help I have it working now.

I did run into a couple of problems however after viewing other reports I was able to correct them.

Thanks again.
