I have an an Access 2000 ADP file which has a report based on a stored procedure. Nothing odd or unusual. It has worked perfectly for 6 months. The main user of the database, recently got a replacement laptop. Now the report says that the sp does not exist, even though it clearly does.

If I open the adp on my computer (It is a network file), then it works fine. If I log into his machine as myself with sa rights, it gives me an error saying it can't find the sp. Knowledgebase tell me that this error is because the owner of the sp isn't specified in the properties for the report. But it is specified. And it works perfectly on every machine except the one it most needs to work on.

His old laptop has windows 2000 as the operating system and his had XP. But my computer has XP (Although I'm running Access 2003 on my machine). Is there some setting in XP that we need to change? Are there any ideas what it could be? I know service pack 2 has some issues with security that earlier versions of XP do not have in conjunction with SQL Server, but if the firewall was blocked then wouldn't he be unable to see the data in forms and or have trouble entering and updating data as well? He can do all that, just not open the report.

I don't knwo the answer, but some of the questions below might point you in the right direction.

Has he also changed from Office 2000 to Office XP or 2003?
Check that all Office patches and service packs are loaded on the laptop.
Is the full version of Access loaded on his machine or the runtime?
If you have the full version, can you run any stored procedures at all through Access? Can you run SQL views on that machine?
Have you tried the Component Checker from Microsoft.com to make sure that MDAC is properly installed?
Are you running the same version of MDAC on all machines on the network?

He still has Office 200 and yes, it's the full version of Access. Yes he can and is successfully using sps everywhere except the report.

MDAC, hmmm that's a good idea, when he gets in from the field, I'll check that out.
