Good afternoon,

I am trying to rebuild an Accessapplication in VB.NET. No problem so far managing the data. But now I would like to create a report in VB.NET. As I am very unexperienced the following questions arose:

1) What is the best way to develop reports for displaying data from database?
2) Is it possible to import my old access reports is some kind of way?

Could anyone give me some information where to start? Any help appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

Kind regards,

1) You have several options really. You could use Crystal Reports, Microsoft Excel, HTML etc. The choice really is up to you and the requirements of the application.

2) You can do that if you want as you can ase the Access Object Library but personally I wouldn't use it (that doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't but there are lots of reasons why I wouldn't)

OK, thanks for you quick reply. As I do not want to get involved again in Office programs I will investigated the Crystal Reports. What is the best start?

Crookshanks,
