Can anyone explain how Windows NT replication works? I have managed to set it up between the PDC and BDC but my test file is not replicating from the PDC to the BDC. The Directory Replicator service is running on both machines.

Thanks

Wow, this post takes me back... I had nothing but trouble attempting to get replication working in NT. What I ended up doing was a manual copy of the contents of the c:\winnt\system32\Repl\import\Scripts directory to all Domain Controllers. If I made changes to the logon script, or any other script that was called, I would just copy it to the directories on the PDC and each BDC.
Probably not what you wanted to hear, but you can do this work around until you resolve.

I'm having the same problem. I'm preparing a NT4 network to upgrade to W2K3 and created a BDC and setup replication. I too however am not seeing the files from the share netlogon on the PDC replicate to the netlogon of the bdc.

If I am not mistaken..(and it's been awhile) the BDCs have to store their replicated files in c:\winnt\system32\Repl\export\Scripts
True, what is in the Export Directory is replicated to the Import Directory of the replication partner. Good point to bring up.
My work around was to manually copy the files into all the import directories of all Domain Controllers until replication issue is resolved. When client logs in the scripts will be available to process...
