Replication or Save Conflict when editing Mail.Box

Each morning we get various dead mails in Mail.Box where people have put the wrong email address in.
Usually I would edit the document and correct the email address, this has work successfully but the last few days I have been getting the error saying that someone else was editing the document (although I am the only one with access) then in the mail queue a document: "Replication or Save Conflict" appears. Any ideas why?

there's also the router task that has access to the mail.box... it might be that it has processed or tried to process the document while you were making your modifications.

I don't think it is the router task as it is happening everytime I try to correct an incorrect address. Any other suggestions?
