I have a Database ( FE / BE split ) where the Back End is replicated.
I'm experiencing problems with the replica that is on a server at a remote site. We communicate with the remote site over a relativly slow link - hence the need for the replica.
One of the admin staff runs a Synchronisation at the end of each day and this normally goes well.
HOWEVER, sometimes ( about once a week ) the synchronisation fails.
On investigation we find that the database at the remote site is no longer a replica database - It works fine as a standalone database but denies any knowledge of belonging to the replica set.
My question - Is there any known way that an individual at the remote site could be ( deliberately or accidentally ) changing the state of the database.
Or is this a symptom of a file corruption event that may indicate a hardware fault
Or have you any other ideas.
