I am working to replace an old DC in my network (this is NOT the primary domain controller)by building a new one.
I need help with the steps that i must follow to ensure i dont miss anything out when i demote the old one and replace it with the new DC.

Thanks.

Sorry !
The new one that i will setting up is 2000 server, so is the old one.
Thanks.

I am rebuilding for space reasons, the old one is running out of space!

You need to know if the DC you're replacing is handling any network chores such as DHCP, DNS, etc. If it is, you'll need to transfer those to the new DC.

You can transfer any FSMO roles manually if you want, but when you do a DCPROMO to remove it as a DC, it will automatically transfer any remaining FSMO roles to the other DC's.
