Replacing mirrored hard drive 1

Hard drive went bad in a redundant system, does the replacement have to be a nortel formatted bcm drive? Or will any blank harddrive work?
 
I have just used a HD of the same size or larger with no problems.

Thank you I wasn't quite sure, I have the mirroring process in full swing now
 
Do you know how long this process takes?

This is going on 4 hours now. Although it did go down during a thunderstorm.
 
Which drive was the bad one Primary or Secondary?
