I am trying to update some of mappings I have created in a sandbox and staging folder (in order to better debug them).

Since I have different repositories for dev and prod, I need to export them via XML files.

For the mapping I just rename the old one, but I don't want to do this for the mapplets as want one and only one version of each mapplet.

When importing the mapplet from the xml file (or when importing the whole mapping), it stops as expected and says that a mapplet allready exist with that name, and gives me the option to
1. Rename
2. Reuse
3. Skip

I.E. no way to replace the existing !

Isn't there any way to do this as I want all the other mappings which uses the mapplet to point to the new version.

PS using informatica 5.1

Hi,

When you copied the mapping into other folder,it will have the mapplets assoicated with it.When you import the mapping the mapplet also got imported. So when you are trying to import another mapping with same mapplet this message will appear i.e Rename, reuse or skip. just select reuse. this should work.

let me know if it helps.

Sorry, it won't work if the mapplet is changed in the imported version (as you will still be using the old).

Had to do the changes manually in the mapplet after importing.
