Hello everyone.
Pretty much the title is self explanatory. I have a hitachi hard drive that doesn't even turn on so im praying that the logic board just died on me. I found the same logic board on ebay for the same hard drive. Everything is exactly the same including the main controller chip (same #). However, the motor driver chip is off by one number. Mine ends in 4 and the one I looked up on ebay ends in 5.

Do you guys think this will make a difference ?

Thank you.

Most important is the firmware rev. If they're both the same it shouldn't matter which chips are being used.

How do I verify the firmware version? Isnt the firmware encoded in the main controller chip (they are both identical)
