I just wanted to know what exact steps are required to replace a UC module with respect to backing up the voice and structure files. Is it just the .mdb or more? When the new module is installed I take it that I have to go through an implementation procedure as well? I didn't get a chance to do the initial install so I didn't get to see the procedure.

If it is defective it is probably too late to backup the configuration

if you can connect the export the mdb file & copy any custom wav files

you will need to reinstall the software to the uC110 module (it almost certainly will not have the correct release installed) & then go through the ignition process.

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Thank you. It is still functional and working. So just export the mdb file which I take it is the structure. Where or how do you copy the wav files? Does this ensure all mailbox greetings as well?

If you create a manual backup from voicemail pro you can copy it off of the module using an SSH client. This will have all of the voicemails, recordings, Modules, etc... Then you can upload that backup onto the new module and restore it through the web client on the module.

To create a manual backup are you talking about using the Administration/Preferences/General/Backup & Restore tab? Can I plug in a USB Memory Stick and write the backup to there? Is this the path you're talking or File/Export .mdb? I take it that would only give me the structure and no greetings or recordings?

I'm still a little lost on what the actual procedure would be to get a full backup on this UC module. Is there a document to reference or could someone give me a step by step process on what needs doing. I have an SSH client on my computer and looked at it as well as an FTP server program that I loaded for another ap. I just wondered if there's a simple way to copy the files to a USB stick or if not what are the steps.

Thanks!

The UC module hosts two applications, VMPro and One-X Portal.
Both have backup options which need to be used to make the backups.
That is all there is.

Thanks tipeter!

So in final question to just going there and doing this replacement, is it just the .mdb file that I need that is created when you do a backup in administration? I'm not using any One-X portal apps. I'm more concerned about whether this .mdb is just the structure or is it all the recordings? Why did someone suggest doing a "manual backup" and using an SSH client to get all "This will have all of the voicemails, recordings, Modules, etc..." Just the .mdb from administration has all this or no?

MDB is not all but then you are on the good way.
Copy the entire folder called VM and then you have it all.
But you better make a backup from the client if this is still possible.
If not then replace the module and put it on the correct release and then stop the VM service and replace the MDB file and the folder VM on the UCM.
Then start the service and it should be good to go.
