I have new recordings of the same announcements (same file name just new recording). Should I import or copy them to my VAB using VAL Manager?

Delete the orginal announcement first, then copy the new version.

Copying files to the VAL board is easy and simple, if you have the proper file type to begin with. I gave the customer the Avaya parameters for the announcement file. The customer insisted that the file type was correct. When I checked it out using Sound Recorder/Properties, I noticed I had to change from PCM to CCIT-ulaw (board is set for u-law). Once I saved it in the correct companding, I copied the announcements to the board using VAL manager. The VAL manager log showed successful copy. Everything looked good EXCEPT we had issues with sound quality. I asked the customer to confirm with the recording company that all of the properties of the file matched the Avaya requirements. Recording company explained that part of the file was encryption and shipped the corrected version to me. Once I received the files in the Avaya format, the announcements copied like a charm and sounded great.
