I just swapped out a Standby IPSI board and realized that I have to telnet into it to configure it. I know I need a crossover cable. But I was wondering if I can use Putty to telnet into it if I put in the correct ethernet port of 192.11.13.15 and 255.255.255.252?

Yes putty, but check your IP address. Should end in .5 not .15.
192.11.13.5

Just to clarify the .5 would be your laptops address and then go to 192.11.13.6 for the IPSI.

So when I put an entry in putty to go to the IPSI board port, I want to put in 192.11.13.6, correct? Then I can follow the procedure to add or check settings, etc.?

Plug crossover cable into port labeled services on IPSI board.

So I cannot just use Putty from my laptop without configuring the laptop with the ip address 192.11.13.5. Putty will have an entry to the IPSI of 192.11.13.6. I am planning on doing this later this week. Thanks.

Correct on your last post ,also ensure the gate way on your nic settings form your laptop is the ip of IPSI services port 192.11.13.6.

I cannot recall how to change the ip address on the laptop. Can someone give me the steps to do this? Sorry, I do not remember. Thanks.

go to network/network and sharing/change adapter settings/go to your local area connection/properties/tcp/ipv4 and hit properties again, from there you should be able to change it.
