I cannot for the life of me get the system to see the new phone type. I have:
Deleted the user and extension-rebooted-recreated with same ext no rebooted
Created an entirely new user & ext, changed the Ip add of the phone (both on the system and the remote phone) rebooted
Still the system sees it as a 4624. So needless to say the new 5610 doesn't work.

What gives? I have spent way too much time trying to get this stupid phone working properly. Please help!

What does the phone say on the display?

nada
After rebooting, you can go in with * and prog settings. Then it downloads the 2 46xx files and just goes blank. In status & in mgr it shows the phone as 4624 no matter what I do.

Firmware files corrput???

I would put new bin files in your TFTP server and see that makes any difference.

Erase config and import the users without the faulty one
Then create a new one
Also import the users without the faulty one and make a new one

Try it with a default (or nearly) config
or
Downgrade back to original version (blow a backup config onto the system), delete the 4624, add 5610 then re-upgrade.

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Let the phone come up and do HOLD-RESET and force another firmware upgrade and phone setup.

Have you got another 5610 you can try?? Maybe that one is just having an identity crisis!!!!

Let me know how you do AZJG. I've got this problem as well. It's a 5621SW, at a remote site. The phone displays as a 4624 in system status. TFTP logs show that it's downloading files. Have tried two new identical sets, same result. The phone works, just no display.

Well fellas the display issue ended up being a result of the Cisco PIX. Had the network folks run:
no fixup protocol h323 h225 1720
no fixup protocol h323 ras 1718-1719

Then rebooted the system and wellah! Now the problem is with the CRM locking up. User can make 1-2 calls then it freezes and you have to actually go into task manager and shut down the ap & restart it. Any ideas? It worked without a hitch with the old set up. I've run the batch file and windows firewall is turned off on the pc. TIA
