Hi All,

Need to ask you something for below scenario:
* In our control unit avaya ip office 500 currently from first purchased only have 2 modules: analog(bp2) & digital (bd3)
* few weeks ago also installed another module digital in empty slot control unit (bd4) and it works fine
* few days ago i want to replace the module analog (bp2) with digital and detected as (bd2), when replaced that all devices phone in (bd3) become not able to do any call(internal/external) the devices become no tone.

May i know which area of config i should check to find out the issue & attached the logs from sysmon when call occurred when replace module.

I asked partner local but seems they always said usually when replaced module like that should not have any affect.

Many thanks

I would delete the card from the config under 'Control Unit' and reboot to let it rediscover the current card. There maybe something stuck in the config if you change card types. Deleting it and rebooting should clear any programming for that slot.

Hi,

already did that, before i replace the module analog(bp2) with digital (bd2) i did these steps below:
* login -> delete the module analog in control unit
* delete the extension as well
* save -> shutdown
* replace it with digital
* turn on back again
still same - the devices digital phone in module 3 (bd3) still have an issue, but for devices in module digital (bd4) not affected)

Many thanks for your reply & please advice for any of your thoughts regarding this.

How many digital cards you have installed? It should be no more then 3.

Hi,

the old one 1 module digital 8 port(bd3), recent installed in empty slot module combo (bd4: digital 6 + analog 4), and now i'd like to replace module 8 port module analog(bp2) with 8 port module digital(bd2).

If let say i'd replace the module analog with module digital it still only 3 module digital isnt ?

Many thanks

Okay. In this case, I would shutdown the system. Unplug the power cord. Take out all modules ( no need to take them all the way out. Just a little). Insert the defective module bd3 only and leave others out. Power cycle the system and see if you have dial tone. If yes, then plug the next module and so on. Till you find which card will make it stop working. Then try to swap these card with each other.

Hi icet500,

Do the the module digital hardware have a version compatibility i should aware of ? & when swapping module do the extension number in each port will be need to reconfigured ?

Again many thanks for all your help

No, Just make sure that the cards are all in same release. Open the config then select control unit.
for your other question, if you are swapping the same card type ( digital 8 with digital 8) then there is no need to re number the exts, but if you swapping a different type ( digital 8 with compo) then yes you need to re number/configure the extensions.
