Hi,

I have experience with Nortel systems but very small experience with AVAYA G450. I must replace the defect MM710 E1 card on G450 to new card! Is this card hotplug or must be first disabled? Excuse me, maybe a stupid question ....
Could someone please write me step by step, how to replace MM710 if card not hotplug?

Thank you in advance :)

42SKPK,

Media modules are hot swappable. It is recommended you busy the board before removal, replace with new card and then release the board.

with that "busy" you meant any command, something similarly as in the Nortel PBX,LD60 DISL?. LD96 DIS DCH ...?

busy board slot # release board slot #

acss sme acis sme acss cm 5.2.1 acss cm and cmm acss aura messaging.

Thank you gentlemen!

Sorry about that multiple querying, I was a bit scatterbrained :)

Why do you think the existing board is defective?

Alarms? Errors? lights on the board?
Trunks are in-service or out-of-service?
PRI? signaling-group in-service?

Cannot make calls?
Cannot receive calls?

Nothing above stated, I am in this case in a position smart hand. Remote maitainer sent me to site reset the card if no succes, then replace with the new card, because they have such a problem with card, that card is workin, but Card can not see in the G450 ...

MM710 is a DS1 board. you should keep in mind that it may be the primary clock for something so its important to make sure that you are getting the right support from the people who sent you as a pair of smart hands. Your the one that has to face the customer if you knock any critical systems down. Usually you can just busy the channels or trlk grp, etc to make sure you are not kicking calls off without letting them complete but its always a good idea to make sure you are careful.
