repeating event in gantt chart

Is there a way to chart a repeating event in a gantt chart? We have quarterly reports and would like to keep them on the same line but repeat quarterly. As an example, we have quarterly training reports in March, June, September and December. Any ideas??

From Excel, that's the only way I know. Is there another way??

Well there's also MS Project,

Yes, you can have as many gantt bars as you have columns of data to define the durations.

Typically with a gantt chart you have a StartValue and a Duration.

To add a second bar you need two more durations, an OFF duration and an ON duration, where the OFF duration is formatted with no line or fill.

Are you in MS Project doing this? I only have an old Project 4.0 to work with and am not getting it. Is there a way to do this in Excel? I have Office 2000 and Office XP as well as OpenOffice.

Post some sample data for your currrent gantt chart, including headings.

Something like this would be an example. I'm looking for three bars on Room 1
We are trying to use this for multiyear project planning, not actually room usage but this is a lot easier to work with.
