Hi,

Our finance manager has left the company and his replacement has been here for a while, when he joined to get him working quickly we renamed the old managers accounts. This seems to have changed most references to the name, except i.e if he has a spreadsheet open and someone else tries to open it, it says its locked by the old username, I have checked all of the AD properties and can't find a reference to this name but its still popping up. Anyone had this before???

Thanks for your help guys!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but on Office products when you try to open an already opened doc it will tell you the name that the product is registered under (not the logged on user). I'm guessing the new finance manager uses the same computer as the old one.

If you look under Help > About under Excel you will probably see the old finance manager's username. Probably a reg hack to change it, if that's it.

What i mean is try the old username and the new one to see if they both resolve to the same SID.
