Mulitple user objects were renamed. Now both the old user names and new user names now appear in the tree. When deleting the old user name the new user name also gets deleted. What do I need to do to delete the old user name without the new name getting deleted?

Is your NDS sychronising ok and does it come up with any errors when checking synchronisation? -----------------------------------------------------

NDS is sychronising ok with no errors. The user objects were renamed soon after a netware 3.2 to 5.0 upgrade. There might have been a problem during that time.

Are these actual User Objects, or are these maybe Bindery Objects? Just a thought.

Have you run DSREPAIR on the Servers? I bet you have stuck obituaries.

What version of NetWare / Support Packs are you running?

Good Luck.

They are user objects, I have ran dsrepair, service pack 6 is installed with all the latest patches and yes they are stuck obituraries. What's the best way to get rid of them?

That's a good TID to follow, just make sure you don't rush it. NDS will need time to sync and rushing it may cause other problems. -----------------------------------------------------
