I currently have a W2K Server running our Intranet, SQL and Citrix Metaframe XP FR2.This server is called "Intranet01"
The problem at at hand is, i want to move our Intranet and SQL over to a new server and call that one "Intranet01" hence the need to rename the server currently hosting Citrix.
Can i just simply rename the server in Windows or will that stop my Citrix config working?

regards
SB

If your server is the datastore, see ctx102614 on the citrix website

if it isnt, see ctx669886 which should guide you through it

As this is the only server i have running Citrix, i can only assume it's the Datastore, Is there an obvious way of checking? When they refer to access DB, is that MS Access? (i've not got that installed).Sorry for sounding novice like, but i don't have a clue as far as citrix is concerned.

Id ask the person who setup it up then, as you can store your datastore anywhere on your network and that will be the datastore for your farm

you can also see where the dsn is pointing to if you search for the mf20.dsn, although if your not using access or sql, you may not have one, im not too sure as ive only ever setup it up with access

id also recommend backing everything up as well by using the dsmaint command

with all this in mind, i also recommend gaining some knowledge on how citrix works before commencing, cos it it doesnt go to plan, you may have to recover your datastore

Andy

Thanks Andy, that's good advice.

regards
Steve.

If you do not have Access installed and you are running only one Citrix server you are most likely using MSDE. On the local server.

If this is the case, will it make renaming my server less of an issue?

Use the article Andy directed you to ctx102614. to recreate the localhost cache use dsmaint recreatelhc
