Removing white space between conditionally suppressed fields 1

Using CR XI R2 on Windows XP and OracleI'm sorry for asking this question again; I'm pretty certain I've seen it answered but I can't seem to come up with the right search phrase.

I have a conditional suppress formula on a field.

{RESULT.NAME}<> 'Reference'

I have this formula in 3 fields in the details section of my report. The way the data is stored, each record can have different entries for {RESULT.NAME} but I am only interested in seeing records where {RESULT.NAME} = 'Reference'. The formula works fine, that's not the problem. The problem is that for records with multiple entries, there can be a substantial amount of white space between the displayed fields. Is there anything I can do to remove this space so the records appear more neatly aligned?

Why are you suppressing these records instead of using a record selection formula to remove them entirely?

Create a section below the detail section. You should now have a section detail a and detail b. Create as many of these extra sections as you have for the fields that you may want to suppress.

What I'm suggesting is that you locate each field in a different detail section. Then you can suppress the section if it is blank.

No sooner do I post this than I find thread767-1390313. You're right dgillz, why AM I suppressing instead of using a record selection formula?
