Is there a way to remove the transport command from the Line vty configuration?

line vty 0 4
password 123
transport input telnet

I've tried "no transport input" and it's not removing the transport command line. Local authentication is not being used. Maybe this is a bug.

Try:
Code:
transport input all

Which I think is the default.

Hey Andy.........that was it. Many Many Thanks!!

I'm curious...what problem are you trying to solve? All you have done so far is open up your switch to more methods for management communication when it previously could just do Telnet. I'm not sure what you're even trying to accomplish.

If you're trying to prevent any remote access, just do this...
router(config)#line vty 0 4
router(config-line)#no login

He ended up doing the opposite: he allowed everything. And the way the question is phrased, it sounds like he did it just because he didn't want the line to show up in the config.

I posted the correct answer, however re-reading this the original question it does warrent a check as to why he wanted this originally. I assumed it was just an annoyance seeing it in the config, however without more information it's difficult to speculate.....

He hasn't posted anything since his original 'thanks' over a week ago so I could have assumed correctly?
