Removing the splash screen

Hi,

Our compamy manages many remote servers, some over dailup, we are trying to remove all splash screens from the programs we use in order to minimize the amount of traffic over the link. Has anyone found a way of disabling the mcafee vshield one?

You can add the switch /NOSPLASH to it.

Depends on your version. This is for VirusScan 4.5 & 4.5.1

Start the Windows registry editor.

Locate this registry key:

HKLM
SOFTWARE
Network Associates
TVD
Shared Components
On Access Scanner
Vshield
System Scan
General

Set the value for the dword variable bSkipSplash, which you'll find in this registry key, to reflect your preferences. You can use either of these values:

1 - Disables the splash screen
0 - Enables the splash screen

Close the Windows registry editor.
