does anyone knows if the above is doable ?

Can you explain in a bit more detail what you want to do please?

I'm not sure it's possible. Consider the scenario of a multi-user stand alone machine. Without that 'locked by' message, it could be problematic to know who needs to unlock it so that a different user can log on.

Obviously you can remove the last person to login to the PC from the user name box on the login screen, but I don't think you can remove the current user on a locked workstation without some programming knowhow.

well I guess you all have answered my question ...
thanks.

Hi. Just spotted your thread.

**There is a way to do this.**

You will need to edit "msgina_dll" in both c:\i386 and c:\windows\system32.

This file controls what is displayed on the login/logout/locked screens, from the text "Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to begin" to the icons that appear on thosee screens.

It does through through a variety of tags which relate to certain screens.

You'll need a tool to do this, like ResourceHacked, but it's free and pretty easy to do. Check out this thread for moore info!
