I am trying to deploy Office 2003 without the standard templates that ship with the program. I have the Office Resource Kit and am using the Custom Installation Wizard to create a deployment package.
I have tried the following:
1. Specifying a different path for the user templates and workgroup templates via the CIW, this shows the new templates that I want, but also shows the standard MS templates. No good.
2. Deleting the folder \\mspath\Templates\1033. This did not work, this still shows the standard templates, but whenever I select them it runs through the installation process trying to recreate them, since I deleted them. :p

Is there something else I need to remove? Or a setting I am missing somewhere? Is this even possible? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I think you will find that the files in the 1033 dir are keypath files ,so you can delete them as many times as you like and msi will self repair, I would say that this is not possible, and I also wonder why you are trying to break something that works fine, just add your companies templates in as well....

I agree 100 percent, but as in most short sighted corporate decisions, it comes from up top...
Thanks for your help.
