OK so I manage an account for a consultant company.
The boss brings in a SMS server and starts it up and now we have the SMS client on every computer.

The client doenst want it or the mess and maintenance it creates, so he drops by one day and removes the server.

Great now how do I get the Client off 300 computers...

Please help!

You can download the SMS toolkit and remove SMS using one of the tools provided, I presume you could put it into the logon script

Master of Disaster.....Recovery

It will self uninstall the clients in 30 days

for removing sms 2.0 client manually:

To manually clean up a client, run the 20clicln.bat file to uninstall the Systems Management Server client. When this process is finished, delete any instance of the Sms.ini or Smscfg.ini file on the workstation. After this is complete, reinstall the client by using normal installation methods. A new ID will be allocated to the client. BR/>
The version of 20CliCln.bat that can be downloaded as part of the SP2 support tools can be run with a command line switch of /scrub which removes the Smscfg.ini file and enable a creation of a new GUID

for removing 2003 client:

use CCMClean.exe
