Removing SENT and TRASH items 2

Is there a way to remove some items from Sent or Trash without eliminating everything and without having to select each item separately? Perhaps some way of highlighting, for example, the last 1/3 of the list? Highlighting by holding down the left click only allows an item to be physically moved on the page. THANK YOU

Select the first in the list, hold down <shift>, scroll to last in the list to be deleted and click on it. Hit the DELETE key.

Standard Windows shortcut.

That is the problem; GW isn't acting like the std. windows shortcut. If I highlight the first name and hold the left mouse button down to highlight the rest of the list, I get the black circle with a line diagonally thru it and the first highlighted name is moving with the curser. Any other ideas? Thanks, Steve

You don't hold down the left mouse button. You click the left mouse button on the first email, then release

Then you hold down the <Shift> button

Then (while holding down <Shift>), click on the last email in the list.

Then press <Delete>
