Hi, I have configured a secondary trunk between my Option 11 and an Asterisk server.

If we press 5 on the Option 11, call is put on the trunk towards Asterisk.

question is : How can I remove the 5 on that trunk?

Let's say I dial 5-1234, I need only 1234 on the asterisk side, not 51234. Is it possible to get rid of that 5? But I need that 5, because if I press 9, it goes to the PSTN via the primary trunk... 5 is the secondary trunk.

Any help?

Thanks!

Try and create a DMI table in LD 86, and delete 1 digit. So when the call hits that route it will delete the first digit, on your RLI put in your DMI

Cheers,

Killian

better bet.. can you use unique numbers for the asterisk? look at the numbers in the vacant dn table.. ld 20 prt ludn. if you have a single digit vacant or even a 2 digit that will work on the asterisk then use dsc's.. ld 86 new cdp, enter each number pointing them to a rlb for that route. look at the bars faq here for some pointers..

then if the user wants the asterisk number 1234, they dial 1234.. it is usually best not to require the end users to know where a number lives.. we dial interswich to 3 remote switches, end users don't know it the number is off campus, on the cisco or in another state..

Ok thanks guys. What we are trying to do is to have a hybrid system. Everybody is on the Option 11 now, but some of them will change to asterisk. So they need to keep their current extension that are defined on the Option 11, but their phone will be forwarded on the Asterisk.

For instance, if my extension on the Option is 1234 and I want to switch to Asterisk, I'm defining a 1234 extension on Asterisk. When people on the Option 11 would like to call me, they will type 1234, that extension would be forwarded to 51234 (because we don't have extension beginning by 5 in our company), so 5 indicates the trunk towards Asterisk. But my extension on the Asterisk is 1234 and not 51234, so I need to remove that 5....

Thants what my post does, delete 1 digit which is the leading digit, 5,

Killian

Thanks KillianK, it is working now! I created a DMI that removes 1 digit.

Now I have a weird problem : If i dial 51xx, 52xx, 53xx, 54xx, 55xx, 56xx, 57xx, 58xx and 59xx it works, but not if we dial 50xx... ???

does the far end see the 1st digit 0 as an operator call.. ?

no, the far end (asterisk) see only the last 3 digits... For instance, id I dial 50123, Asterisk sees 123....

But If I dial 51234, Asterisk sees 1234 ....

create a second rli and dmi to 50 calls and del 1 and insert 0
