Hi All, I am running into a space problem on the primary drive on my windows 2k server and would like to remove the Patch Uninstall folders from C:\winnt\ to gain back some space. My question is - can I do this without causing a problem to my server? I curently do not have enough free storage space to install service pack 1 on this server.

Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Very good question and I am in the same boat! I think you probably can but would loose the ability to uninstall the patches. I am planning on setting up a server to trial this theory on next week so will post the result unless someone responds in the mean time.

If you can, move them to a different partition. If not, they are safe to delete but you will not be able to uninstall them at a later date. Although, once you service pack a server they are not needed anyway.

I was wondering can you remove these files for xp pro, and if so how do you do it.
thanks, Mike Kohler
